On a snowy winter night we set out for Wintering Ground cafe. Luckily for us, it’s just a short drive (like 2 minutes) from our home.
Welcome to 2017!
May it be joyous, prosperous and especially delicious!
I live south of what people usually think of as the city, but technically, it’s still the city. We just don’t have water or sewage or neighbours that we can see.
Since moving out here, I definitely have been cooking more, as I weigh the idea of going into town for food vs. making something, even if I am feeling completely lazy.
And if I’ve been gone all day at work, I like to let the dog out as soon as possible, so that nixes staying in town for dinner.
But I guess there’s another option.
Even though this is my second summer in Whitehorse, I still haven’t made it to any of the […]
I gave you some warning before the seasonal Whitehorse food establishments (restaurants, markets, stores, food trucks) closed for the winter. So it only makes sense that you can start to salivate over what’s to come! (Now including Dawson City)
So I couldn’t technically put this under “visit” because I didn’t visit Braeburn Lodge. In fact, I didn’t even know I was getting a gigantic cinnamon bun was coming my way!
I’ve been a little sad lately because I had to give back the dog I’ve been taking care of for the last 9 months. He’s turned up in a couple of blog posts over that time.
The plan was to take my dad to the hot springs and then go home for whatever meal we could make out of the fridge. We had dined out the night before and economically, I don’t like to do that two nights in a row.
But my dad insisted that he buy us a meal, as we had paid (by gift certificate) for the meal the day before.
And so, we thought – why not Café Balzam? It was on my list to try and we were already out there…
